Armed Attack on Pakistani Army Base in Nokkundi, Balochistan

DID Press: Armed individuals launched an attack on the main border forces base of the Pakistani Army in Nok Kundi, Chagai district, on Sunday evening, resulting in a heavy clash between the assailants and army personnel. No details have been released regarding casualties from the confrontation.

According to local sources, the assault began with an explosion at the base entrance, after which the attackers entered the compound. Pakistani authorities have confirmed the incident.

Balochistan has witnessed a rise in armed attacks and bombings in recent years. Its strategic border location and the presence of major projects, including China’s Belt and Road initiatives, have made it a target for separatist groups and militant organizations.

The Pakistani government recently approved a “comprehensive operation” against militants in Balochistan and is coordinating security measures with China to protect economic projects in the region. This latest attack underscores that insecurity in Balochistan remains a major challenge for the Pakistani government, with the likelihood of intensified military operations in the coming days.
