Taliban–Pakistan Talks End Without Progress in Riyadh

DID Press: Delegations from the Taliban and Pakistan met in Saudi Arabia on Sunday under Riyadh’s mediation to discuss key political issues and potential paths forward. According to a diplomatic source, the talks concluded without significant progress, as both sides remained firm on their previous positions.

Despite the deadlock, Saudi Arabia emphasized its commitment to ongoing diplomatic efforts and said it is prepared to host additional rounds of negotiations to help stabilize Afghanistan. The meetings reflect Riyadh’s continued role in facilitating dialogue between Afghanistan and its regional partners amid ongoing security and political challenges.
