DID Press: Russia’s military announced that it has gained full control of the strategic Ukrainian city of Pokrovsk after weeks of intense fighting. Russian media released footage showing troops raising the Russian flag in the city center, near the Polytechnic University and several government buildings.
President Vladimir Putin hailed the advance as an “important victory,” saying military operations will continue until all stated objectives are achieved.
The announcement coincides with the visit of a U.S. special envoy to Moscow — a development analysts view as a sign of the Kremlin’s deep mistrust of Washington’s assurances regarding efforts to end the war.
