Shoigu, Wang Yi Convene Strategic Security Talks in Moscow

DID Press: Strategic security talks between Sergei Shoigu, Secretary of Russia’s Security Council, and Wang Yi, China’s Foreign Minister, will begin Tuesday (Dec. 2) in Moscow, focusing on international security issues and the geopolitical situation in the Indo-Pacific region.

The Russian Security Council’s press office said the discussions will cover global and regional security developments, military and technical-military cooperation, and coordination between the two countries’ security and intelligence agencies.

Earlier, Mao Ning, spokesperson for China’s Foreign Ministry, confirmed that Wang Yi will travel to Russia on 1-2 Dec on Shoigu’s invitation to participate in the strategic consultations.

The talks come amid expanding security and political cooperation between Beijing and Moscow in recent months, highlighting the growing alignment of the two countries on regional and global issues.
