UNSC to Discuss Afghanistan Humanitarian and Political Crisis
DID Press: UN Security Council will once again review the situation in Afghanistan during its upcoming quarterly session, focusing on the country’s humanitarian crisis, political instability, and security challenges.

According to an official statement, Georgette Gagnon, Deputy Political Officer of the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), together with a senior official from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and a representative from Afghan civil society, will present a comprehensive report on current conditions.
Following the public meeting, council members will hold closed consultations to discuss details and potential strategies for managing the crisis.
While the exact date of the session has not been announced, further details are expected to be released in the coming days.
