DID Press: Yuri Ushakov, assistant to the President of Russia, said that recent discussions between Moscow and Washington regarding Ukraine were “constructive,” but the two sides have not yet reached an agreement to end the war, and the path to a settlement remains difficult.

According to Russian sources, Ushakov announced on Tuesday that the talks held at the Kremlin between senior Russian and U.S. officials made some progress, but disagreements—especially regarding Ukraine’s territorial issues—continue to block a peace agreement.
These remarks came following a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, along with former presidential advisor Jared Kushner, in Moscow.
Ushakov emphasized that there is still a long way to go to achieve reconciliation and noted that both sides have agreed not to disclose details of the negotiations. He added that contacts and consultations between Washington and Moscow will continue to explore ways to resolve the Ukraine crisis.
