Taliban Ambassador Attends Multiple Iranian State Events

DID Press: Taliban’s ambassador in Tehran has participated in two official ceremonies attended by senior Iranian officials in recent days — a development that has drawn attention from observers of Iran–Afghanistan relations.

Fazl Mohammad Haqqani, the envoy of Afghanistan’s interim Taliban government in Tehran, took part in two formal state functions alongside high-ranking officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to reports, Haqqani attended the International Day of Persons with Disabilities ceremony, which was held in the presence of Iran’s President, Masoud Pezeshkian. During the event, Iranian officials emphasized the need to strengthen social support systems, expand rehabilitation services, and ensure equal opportunities for people with disabilities.

The Taliban ambassador also participated in the ECO Day ceremony, attended by officials from Iran’s Foreign Ministry and representatives of member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization.

The meeting discussed issues such as expanding economic and trade cooperation, enhancing regional transit corridors, and strengthening energy-related engagements among ECO member countries.
