Taliban FM Asserts Afghanistan’s Independent Foreign Policy

DID Press: Taliban government’s FM underlined that Kabul manages its foreign relations independently and does not heed Pakistan’s warnings.

Amir Khan Muttaqi, acting Foreign Minister, emphasized that Afghanistan’s foreign policy is determined by Kabul itself and no country has the right to interfere.

“Our relations with India are purely political and economic, and we have the right to engage with any country we wish,” Muttaqi said, reacting to Pakistan’s objections regarding Afghanistan’s relations with India.

“Kabul’s message is clear: Afghanistan determines its own foreign policy, not Pakistan,” he added.
