DID Press: Pakistan Army reported that nine armed members of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were killed in two intelligence-based operations in the Tank and Lakki Marwat areas. Weapons and ammunition were also seized.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistan Army announced today, Saturday, (Dec. 6), that the operations took place on December 5 in the Tank and Lakki Marwat districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. During the operations, army forces killed seven armed individuals in Tank and two others in Lakki Marwat after intense firefights and confiscated their weapons and ammunition.
The Pakistan Army statement added that the deceased individuals had been actively involved in multiple attacks against security forces, law enforcement agencies, and civilians.
These operations are part of a renewed phase of counter-terrorism efforts in northwest Pakistan, during which at least 38 members of various terrorist groups had previously been killed.
The Pakistan Army claims that groups such as the TTP carry out cross-border attacks from Afghan territory—a claim that the Taliban government has repeatedly denied.
