UNICEF: Gaza Children Face Long-Term War Trauma

DID Press: A UNICEF spokesperson announced that nearly 70 children in Gaza have died since the ceasefire and warned that the physical injuries and psychological trauma of war could affect survivors for years.

The UNICEF representative expressed deep concern over the casualties among children in Gaza, stating that the war has not only disrupted their lives but also threatens their future.

He added that children who have lost family members and loved ones are at serious risk of both physical and mental harm.

Palestinian media reported that around 70 children have died since the ceasefire, a tragic figure that UNICEF says should prompt immediate and comprehensive action.

UNICEF emphasized that survivors require urgent services, including medical care, psychological support, social protection, and education, to help them overcome the suffering and trauma caused by the conflict.

The organization also called on the international community to increase pressure to end violence and ensure lasting security and protection for the children of Gaza.
