DID Press: Canada’s Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Public Safety removed Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) group from the country’s list of terrorist organizations, reported international media outlets.

According to Canadian officials, the move aligns with decisions made by Western allies, including the United States and the United Kingdom.
Anita Anand, Canada’s Foreign Minister, said that “fundamental changes” in Syria following the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s government prompted the decision. She added that Ottawa supports the Syrian people in building a safe and prosperous future.
Meanwhile, Syria’s new government under the leadership of Ahmad al-Shar’a has been described as working toward restoring international relations and strengthening the country’s regional standing.
