Afghan Investors Complain of Police Harassment in Pakistan
DID Press: Afghan investors based in Pakistan say increasing pressure and harassment by local police have created serious challenges for their business activities.

According to these investors, incidents of intimidation and mistreatment by police have risen in recent months. They report that officers in several areas have been conducting arbitrary checks of their documents and, in some cases, carrying out aggressive inspections and other unlawful actions.
Several business owners told reporters that the situation has had a direct negative impact on their work, leading to a slowdown in commercial activity and contributing to an overall decline in their businesses.
They have called on the Pakistani government to curb the arbitrary conduct of police officers and to ensure a secure and stable environment that enables fair and uninterrupted commercial operations.
Pakistani authorities have not yet issued an official response to these allegations. However, Afghan investors warn that if such practices continue, they could harm the broader economic relationship between the two neighboring countries.
