DID Press: Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories, condemned what she described as Israel’s “genocide” in Gaza, saying that it was carried out “with the complicity of a number of states.”

“At the Doha Forum, I condemned Israel’s genocidal violence, which has been carried out with the complicity of many states,” Albanese wrote Monday on X.
She called on the international community to take urgent action, saying: “Countries that seek to preserve what is left of multilateralism must swiftly build new alliances and truly stand united as nations, pushing bullies into a corner.”
In her October report titled “The Gaza Genocide: A Collective Crime,” Albanese underlined that “third-party states” have provided direct support, material assistance, diplomatic backing, and in some cases even active participation in Israel’s actions in Gaza.
Since October 2023, Israel has killed more than 70,000 Palestinians—mostly women and children—in its attacks on the besieged Gaza Strip. The Israeli regime has reduced most of Gaza to rubble and effectively displaced its entire population.
Meanwhile, South Africa’s 2023 case at the International Court of Justice, accusing Israel of committing acts of genocide in Gaza, remains ongoing.
Although a ceasefire was established two months ago, Israel’s violations have continued unabated.
