DID Press: US President Donald Trump called for the sale of CNN, describing its current directors as “corrupt” and “incompetent.” His remarks come amid Warner Bros. Discovery’s proposed merger with Netflix and an acquisition offer from Paramount.
Speaking to reporters during a White House-style gathering with economic executives, Trump said, “I think CNN should be sold because the people running it now are either corrupt or incompetent.”
He added that he does not believe the network should remain under its current management and underlined that any transaction should ensure CNN is either included in a broader deal or sold separately. “I think CNN should be sold along with the rest of the assets. I believe selling CNN is necessary, because you definitely don’t want to just let those people walk away with some money and continue spreading even more misinformation,” Trump said.
