Haqqani: Major Threats Managed Despite Limited Resources

DID Press: Taliban Interior Minister, Sirajuddin Haqqani, said that despite limited resources, the country’s special forces have successfully managed significant security threats while remaining ready to make any sacrifice for national defense.

Speaking at a graduation ceremony for a group of special forces personnel, Haqqani emphasized that these units stand on the front lines in safeguarding Afghanistan and are committed to protecting stability and territorial integrity.

He acknowledged the severe constraints in equipment and facilities but highlighted that the forces have neutralized a considerable portion of security threats in recent months.

Haqqani also stressed the importance of the relationship between security forces and the public, urging personnel to act responsibly and respectfully toward citizens. “Law enforcement must be implemented without regard to an individual’s position, influence, or status,” he said.

He added that strengthening public trust and maintaining order requires adherence not only to operational duties but also to ethical and legal standards. The minister concluded by emphasizing ongoing specialized training and capacity-building for special forces, underlining the need for a professional, law-abiding, and committed security apparatus to ensure Afghanistan’s safety.
