3-Day Polio Vaccination Campaign Launched in 16 Afghanistan Provinces

DID Press: Afghanistan’s Ministry of Public Health announced the launch of a three-day nationwide polio vaccination campaign, beginning Monday, December 15, across 16 provinces of the country.

According to the ministry, approximately 7.2 million children under the age of five are expected to be vaccinated during the campaign. The initiative aims to prevent the spread of polio and strengthen children’s immunity against the disease.

Health officials emphasized that the success of the campaign depends on public cooperation and urged families to fully collaborate with vaccination teams by ensuring that all eligible children receive the vaccine.

The Ministry of Public Health said continued vaccination efforts are essential to achieving the complete eradication of polio, a disease that remains endemic in only a few countries worldwide, including Afghanistan.
