DID Press: Armed assailants have kidnapped 25 passengers from a bus traveling to Quetta, reported Pakistani authorities.

The abduction occurred Monday evening when a group of around 15 armed men stopped the bus along the border route between Punjab and Sindh provinces. The attackers fired at the driver, smashed the bus windows, and forcibly entered the vehicle.
Pakistan police said on Tuesday that security forces engaged the assailants in northwest Karachi, rescuing 10 hostages and injuring two of the attackers. All roads leading to the Katcha region have been blocked to prevent the hostages from being moved elsewhere.
Officials emphasized that operations are ongoing to rescue the remaining abductees. No women passengers were harmed during the incident.
The Katcha area, located along the Indus River on the Punjab-Sindh border, has long been considered a high-risk region due to frequent armed crimes, including kidnappings for ransom, extortion, and robberies.
