Ex-Pakistani Envoy Warns Afghanistan Becoming Terror Hub Like Sep/11
DID Press: Asif Durrani, former Pakistani envoy for Afghanistan, has warned that Afghanistan is rapidly turning into a center for multiple terrorist groups, cautioning that inaction could lead to a “9/11-scale disaster anywhere in the world.”

Writing on X on Tuesday, Durrani stressed the importance of regional cooperation over political competition, urging attention to the advice of Afghanistan’s neighboring countries.
He referenced the recent Tehran meeting of senior officials from neighboring states and Russia, organized to counter terrorism and support Afghanistan. Durrani criticized the Taliban government for withdrawing at the last moment, calling it a “missed opportunity for regional consensus against terrorism.”
Durrani highlighted the growing threats from groups including Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), ISIS-Khorasan (ISKP), East Turkestan Islamic Movement (ETIM), Al-Qaeda, and the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (IMU/AMU), warning that they are planning surprise attacks and that there is “no room for negligence or denial of the dangers lurking in the shadows.”
