Dispute Over Afghanistan’s Security: Taliban Claims Stability Amid Global Concerns
DID Press: Despite international warnings about the growth of ISIS cells in Afghanistan, the Taliban government continues to claim that the country’s security situation is stable.

Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid reiterated that Afghanistan is “currently safe” and that no threats exist, dismissing previous international reports on ISIS presence as “exaggerated.”
In contrast, Russia and regional countries have raised alarms over the expansion of ISIS networks in Afghanistan. Russian UN ambassador Vasily Nebenzya stated that trained ISIS fighters from Syria and Iraq have entered Afghanistan and are establishing new operational structures.
Central Asian countries and Pakistan have also described Afghanistan’s instability as a direct regional security threat and called for proactive measures.
The disagreement between the Taliban government and the international community over Afghanistan’s security situation continues.
