FIFA Sets $727M Prize Pool for 2026 World Cup

DID Press: FIFA announced that the total prize money for the 2026 World Cup will reach $727 million, representing an approximately 50 percent increase compared to the 2022 tournament.

Each participating team will also receive $1.5 million to cover preparation costs, ensuring a minimum payout of $10.5 million per team.

Prize distribution based on final placement is as follows:

Champion: $50 million

Runner-up: $33 million

Third place: $29 million

Fourth place: $27 million

Fifth to eighth place: $19 million

Ninth to sixteenth place: $15 million

Seventeenth to thirty-second place: $11 million

Thirty-third to forty-eighth place: $9 million

The significant increase in prize money reflects FIFA’s effort to provide greater financial support and motivation for national teams.
