130,000 People Evacuated in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Pak Army Operation

DID Press: Local authorities and tribal elders in Tirah district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province agreed to evacuate the area for a military operation by the Pakistani army.

According to reports, approximately 130,000 residents of Tirah will leave their homes to allow the army to carry out operations against local militants.

The military operation is expected to last about two months, with phased returns of residents beginning on April 5 of next year.

The agreement includes compensation for damaged homes and financial support for affected families. Fully destroyed homes will receive 3 million Pakistani rupees, partially damaged homes 1 million rupees, and each affected family will receive an immediate cash aid of 250,000 rupees and monthly support of 50,000 rupees.

Pakistani officials said that the evacuation was prompted by increased militant attacks following the return of Afghan Taliban members, and the measure aims to ensure the safe and orderly return of residents after the operation concluded.
