Iran Welcomes Afghan Investment in Petrochemical Industry

DID Press: A senior official at Iran’s Petrochemical Commercial Company said that Afghanistan holds significant potential for investment and partnership in the petrochemical sector, describing the country as a possible strategic partner for Iran in this field.

The official noted that Afghanistan has the capacity to participate in both upstream and downstream segments of the petrochemical industry and that suitable conditions exist for launching joint projects between the two countries.

Emphasizing the importance of expanding regional economic cooperation, he said collaboration in the petrochemical sector could facilitate the transfer of expertise, help complete value chains, and increase bilateral trade interactions.

He further stressed that strengthening economic relations with neighboring countries is a key priority for Iran’s petrochemical industry, adding that Afghanistan could play an effective role in advancing this objective.
