5 Killed after Armed Group Crosses from Afghanistan into Tajikistan
DID Press: Tajikistan’s National Security Committee reported a deadly border clash following the infiltration of an armed group from Afghanistan into Tajik territory. The confrontation resulted in the deaths of three militants and two Tajik border guards.

According to an official statement, the incident occurred on Thursday, (December 25, 2025), when border forces detected suspicious movements and engaged with armed intruders attempting to illegally enter Tajikistan.
National Security Committee confirmed the militants’ attempt to advance further into the country was thwarted. While the exact identity of the terrorist organization has not been disclosed, officials said the assailants belonged to an active regional terrorist group and represented a serious threat to national security.
The security incident comes amid growing warnings from Tajik authorities about increased threats along the Afghan border and calls for stricter measures to prevent armed group activity in border regions.
Authorities have strengthened border security and investigations into the incident are ongoing.
