Afghanistan Becomes Uzbekistan’s 3rd-Largest Export Market
DID Press: Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee announced that Afghanistan became the country’s third-largest export destination in 2025, accounting for more than 3.1 percent of Uzbekistan’s total exports.

According to the committee’s official report, Uzbekistan exported goods worth a total of $30.9 billion between January and November 2025. Of this amount, exports to Afghanistan reached approximately $3.1 billion, reflecting significant growth in commercial ties between the two countries.
The report notes that Afghanistan ranked third among Uzbekistan’s top ten export markets, following Russia and China. This position highlights Afghanistan’s growing role in regional trade dynamics and the increasing economic interdependence between the two neighbors.
Economic analysts say that the expansion of transit routes, easier cross-border trade procedures, and Afghanistan’s rising demand for essential goods, energy, and industrial products have been key drivers of this growth — a trend that could deepen bilateral and regional economic cooperation in the future.
