Taliban Intelligence Chief’s Aide Mysteriously Killed in Kabul

DID Press: Mawlawi Noman, a close aide to the Taliban’s director-general of intelligence, has reportedly been killed in Kabul in what observers describe as a sign of deepening internal rifts within the movement’s security apparatus.

According to credible sources, Noman died at his home in But Khak area of Kabul. The killing has reportedly been linked to individuals associated with Tajmir Jawad, the first deputy of the Taliban intelligence agency, who is regarded as one of the most powerful yet least publicly known figures within the organization.

Sources suggest the incident may be connected to Noman’s recent directive requiring all financial disbursements within the intelligence agency to receive direct approval from the office of the director-general — a move that effectively centralized financial control and allegedly angered several senior officials, including the first deputy.

While the Taliban have officially attributed Noman’s death to a gas cylinder explosion, independent accounts claim the gas system was tampered with and that a grenade may have been used, reinforcing suspicions of a targeted assassination.

The incident has renewed speculation about internal rivalries and intensifying power struggles inside the Taliban’s intelligence structure.
