DID Press: John Hagee, founder of Cornerstone Church in the US and a prominent evangelical pastor, said Jews are the chosen people and “the pupil of God’s eye.”
This status was not selected by Israel itself but was ordained by God, adding that even the United States is not exempt from this divine distinction, He said.
Citing the Bible, Hagee said Jews possess a special treasure above all other nations on Earth.
Critics argue that such narratives of religious exceptionalism are used to justify the actions of the Zionist regime, which they say has killed more than 70,000 innocent civilians in Gaza, including women, children, and the elderly. They add that these actions violate international humanitarian law and global norms, and are carried out with the support of the United States, thereby undermining international accountability.
