Sherpao: Closed Afghanistan Border Cripples Pakistan’s Border Economy
DID Press: Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao, leader of Pakistan’s Qaumi Watan Party, warned that the ongoing closure of the border with Afghanistan is inflicting severe economic damage on Pakistan’s border regions.

Speaking on the issue, Sherpao said the shutdown has led to financial losses for traders, workers, and residents on both sides of the border, affecting thousands of families and contributing to rising unemployment.
He emphasized that reopening the border crossings immediately could significantly improve the economic situation and ease living pressures.
Sherpao also highlighted security concerns and the activities of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), stressing that addressing these challenges requires full implementation of the Doha Agreement and joint efforts between Islamabad and Kabul to combat cross-border terrorism.
