Afghan Travelers Say Islamabad Airport Charges $150 Exit Fee

DID Press: Several Afghan passengers say that, despite possessing valid tickets and Pakistani visas, officials at Islamabad International Airport prevented them from departing.

According to accounts provided to the media, airport personnel allegedly told these travelers they must pay an additional 150 dollars in order to be allowed to leave the airport.

The passengers say they were denied boarding if they refused to pay the fee. They add that they had already incurred significant costs for tickets and visas, and that this unexpected charge placed a heavy financial burden on them.

Afghan travelers have described the move as extortion and called on Pakistani authorities to investigate and address the matter.

So far, Pakistani officials and airport management in Islamabad have not commented on the allegations.
