Taliban: stability in Yemen is vital for regional security

DID Press: Taliban’s Foreign Ministry, referring to recent developments in Yemen, said that stability in the country is a key factor for the security of the Arabian Peninsula and the wider region.

In a statement, the ministry noted that Yemen’s stability plays a decisive role in regional security and affirmed Kabul’s support for any political process that reduces tensions while preserving Yemen’s national unity and territorial integrity.

Abdul Qahar Balkhi, spokesperson for the Taliban Foreign Ministry, wrote on X on Thursday that Afghanistan is closely following developments in the Republic of Yemen and welcomes political efforts and initiatives aimed at strengthening cohesion and stability in the country.

The statement comes as Yemen has witnessed increased military movements in recent days in eastern and southern regions — actions carried out without coordination with the internationally recognized government, and which have heightened tensions between Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

At the same time, the Yemeni government has declared a state of emergency in the south, warning of potential security repercussions, while international actors — including the European Union and the United States — have voiced concern about escalating tensions.

The Taliban concluded that any instability in Yemen could have far-reaching negative consequences for the Arabian Peninsula and the region, stressing that the only viable solution to the crisis lies in dialogue and the preservation of national unity.
