Taliban: Over 600 New Security Outposts Built Along Durand Line
DID Press: Afghanistan’s Taliban-run Ministry of Defense says more than 600 new security outposts have been constructed along the disputed Durand Line over the past year, as part of what officials describe as a broader effort to tighten border control and improve regional connectivity.

In its annual report, the ministry stated that the outposts were built “on a permanent basis” across multiple stretches of the border area. According to the report, roughly 30 percent of planned road-construction projects in these zones have also been completed, while work on the remaining sections is ongoing.
Officials added that public road projects have been implemented in several locations to both strengthen security coverage and facilitate travel for local residents living in remote frontier communities.
Taliban defense authorities said the initiatives form part of wider programs aimed at enhancing security conditions and improving civilian access to transportation networks in Afghanistan’s border regions.
