Denmark Warns US: Respect Greenland’s Sovereignty

DID Press: Denmark called on US to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Greenland after the circulation of a map depicting the island in the colors of the US flag.

The map, shared by the spouse of Stephen Miller, the White House deputy chief of staff, appeared online accompanied by the phrase “coming soon,” prompting a sharp reaction from Copenhagen.

Senior Danish diplomat Sørensen noted that although Denmark and the United States are NATO allies, Washington must respect the borders, independence, and legal status of the Kingdom of Denmark.
