UN Rights Chief: US Military Action in Venezuela Violates International Law

DID Press: UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk criticized the United States over its military operation in Venezuela, saying the move undermines one of the core principles of international law.

In a post on X on Tuesday, Türk stressed that states must not resort to the use of force to advance political demands or territorial claims.

He added that Venezuelan society needs healing, national dialogue, and social reconstruction more than ever, noting that the country’s future must be determined without foreign interference and solely by the people of Venezuela.
