Pak Army: Taliban Possess Advanced US Military Equipment
DID Press: spokesperson for Pakistan’s military warned that the Taliban are in control of advanced U.S.-made military equipment, a development he said is exacerbating security risks across the region.

Ahmad Sharif Chaudhry said new assessments of Afghanistan’s security situation show direct implications for regional stability. He warned that the presence of sophisticated weapons in Taliban hands could fuel extremist activity and heighten terrorist threats.
According to Chaudhry, equipment worth an estimated USD 2.7 billion was left behind in Afghanistan and is now in Taliban possession, with some reportedly being traded illegally on black markets. The arsenal includes night-vision systems and long-range rifles, posing a serious threat to neighboring states, particularly Pakistan.
He added that, despite the Doha agreement between the United States and the Taliban — which stressed that Afghan territory would not be used for terrorism — militant groups continue to operate from Afghanistan, increasing security concerns along Pakistan’s borders.
Chaudhry also referenced Pakistan’s airstrikes on targets inside Afghanistan, describing them as responses to imminent threats and stating that Islamabad remains prepared to take tough measures against extremism. He claimed the international community broadly recognizes Pakistan’s counterterrorism efforts.
Highlighting the human toll, the spokesperson said more than 1,200 security personnel and civilians have been killed in terrorist attacks in recent years, while intelligence-led operations against militant networks are being expanded.
