Erdogan warns of “new global battle” over resources and precious metals

DID Press: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan warned of an emerging “new global competition” over vital resources, precious metals, and trade routes, saying the world is entering a tense and costly period.

Erdogan noted that the West is gradually losing the leverage it has used for years to pressure and threaten other countries, signaling a shift in the global balance of power. He described the situation as a “ruthless struggle for division,” where nations outside the main power blocs face growing pressures.

The Turkish leader also cautioned that the global economy is heading toward a “new battle centered on precious metals,” which he described as potentially very painful, with significant implications for emerging economies and countries reliant on raw material imports.

Highlighting rising competition for energy resources and trade routes, Erdogan said a new race for control and division of resources is taking shape, driven by conflicts over energy supply and dominance of strategic trade corridors. These remarks come amid intensifying geopolitical tensions, competition over advanced technologies, and growing importance of strategic minerals in global industries.
