Afghanistan Expands Electricity Distribution Networks Amid Rising Demand

DID Press: DABS (Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat) announced new progress in developing Afghanistan’s electricity distribution networks.

In response to growing energy demand and existing challenges in the distribution system, DABS has launched serious efforts to expand and improve distribution networks across the country.

Dr. Abdul Bari Omar, CEO of DABS, stated that these projects aim to increase network capacity and reduce electricity losses.

He emphasized that distribution networks, as a key part of the country’s energy infrastructure, require substantial reforms and development.

Currently, billions of Afghanis have been allocated to build new substations and strengthen distribution networks to ensure that both locally produced and imported electricity reaches consumers reliably, consistently, and with high quality.

Dr. Omar added that these initiatives will specifically help reduce technical and commercial losses, improve energy resource management, and increase access to electricity in different regions of the country.

The new projects, especially in remote areas, are expected to enhance energy access for residents and alleviate supply issues for consumers.
