Taliban: 13M Children Now Enrolled in Schools and Religious Centers

DID Press: Taliban’s Ministry of Education reported that 13 million Afghan children—both boys and girls—are currently attending schools and religious education centers across the country.

Spokesperson Mansoor Ahmad Hamza said that of the total enrolled, over 7.53 million are boys and more than 5.39 million are girls. He did not provide a detailed breakdown between formal schools and religious centers.

Hamza also noted that in the past four years, over 3,500 school and religious center buildings have been rebuilt, and more than 1,300 new facilities have been constructed to expand educational access.
