DID Press: A group of militants attacked a police vehicle in the Banu area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistani security officials said. The police vehicle was reportedly on patrol when it was suddenly shot by the attackers. Pakistani police said there were no casualties, but two militants were killed.
The heavy exchange of fire between the police and the armed attackers lasted about twenty minutes.
Pakistani officials said the weapons and equipment of the attackers were seized and the bodies of the two militants were taken to the police station.
The Banu area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been the scene of frequent attacks in recent months.
