Israel Bans Entry of Foreign Journalists into Gaza

DID Press: Israeli occupation authorities told the country’s Supreme Court that they will not allow foreign journalists to enter the Gaza Strip, even if the Rafah crossing is reopened.

The position was stated during a court hearing reviewing a petition filed by the Foreign Press Association (FPA) in Israel, which called for granting international journalists independent access to cover developments in Gaza. However, the Supreme Court judges postponed a final decision to a later date.

According to reports, the Israeli government’s representative argued that the presence of foreign journalists in Gaza could pose security risks both to the journalists themselves and to Israeli military forces. On this basis, officials said that reopening the Rafah crossing would not guarantee entry for foreign reporters.
