Qatar to Facilitate UN Missions in Afghanistan
DID Press: Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad, Qatar’s Minister of State for International Cooperation, met on Thursday with Inderika Ratwatte, the UN Deputy Special Representative for Afghanistan and Resident Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs, during her visit to Doha.

According to a statement by the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two officials discussed ways to support and strengthen cooperation between Qatar and the United Nations, with a focus on expanding coordination in humanitarian and development fields in Afghanistan.
The Qatari minister reaffirmed that Doha will continue to serve as a platform for dialogue and as a logistical, political, and humanitarian partner of the United Nations to help facilitate its missions in Afghanistan.
She also highlighted Qatar’s firm and principled support for the Afghan people, stressing the importance of continued international efforts to provide urgent humanitarian aid and to support key sectors such as health, education, and economic empowerment.
