Kabul Medical University To Add Islamic Medicine Faculty, Says Taliban

DID Press: Taliban Ministry of Higher Education has announced the establishment of the Faculty of Prophetic Traditional Medicine at Kabul Medical University, marking a significant step in formalizing the field of traditional medicine in Afghanistan.

Under a special directive from Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada, the Supreme Leader of the Taliban, the faculty will operate under the umbrella of Kabul Medical University and will focus on education, research, and the training of specialists in the field of Prophetic Traditional Medicine.

According to the Ministry of Higher Education, the establishment of this faculty aims to organize education in the field of traditional medicine, enhance academic capacities, and create opportunities for research in the discipline. Traditional medicine has a long history in Afghanistan but has mainly been practiced informally up until now.

Ministry officials emphasized that the creation of this faculty is part of the Taliban’s developmental plans in the field of medical sciences and that its curriculum will be structured according to academic standards.
