Japan: Girls’ Education Key to Afghanistan’s Integration with Global Community

DID Press: Kenichi Masamoto, Japan’s envoy to Afghanistan, stressed that progress in girls’ education is a critical condition for Afghanistan’s integration with the global community.

Describing girls’ education as a core issue the international community is focusing on regarding Afghanistan, Masamoto said the global community expects tangible progress, especially in human rights and women’s rights, from the Taliban government in various areas.

He emphasized that Japan, as part of the international community, views girls’ education as a key factor in Afghanistan’s alignment with the world and urged appropriate solutions to address this issue.

Masamoto added that progress in areas such as security, citizen protection, combatting narcotics, and upholding women’s rights can pave the way for Afghanistan to build closer relations with the international community.

The ambassador also noted that Tokyo’s engagement with Kabul continues, as Japan hopeful that improvements in these areas will help facilitate constructive cooperation between Afghanistan and the international community.
