DID Press: Officials from the Taliban Ministry of Information and Culture announced efforts to increase the group’s presence on social media and counter opposing messages online.

Saeed Khosti, head of the Jihad Records and Archives division at the Ministry, criticized the group’s weak performance in the digital space.
In a meeting with Taliban social media activists, Khosti pointed out that social media networks have become platforms for the widespread dissemination of anti-Taliban messages, with such content being repeatedly shared throughout the day.
He warned that the continued circulation of these messages could significantly influence public opinion, particularly among the youth.
Khosti emphasized that ignoring the digital space could allow the opposing narrative to gain further traction. He stressed the need for coherent planning and media initiatives to ensure the Taliban’s active presence in this domain.
He added that narrative management on social media is now an essential part of the group’s media strategy.
