Environmental Oversight Up at Herat Healthcare Centers

DID Press: Herat Department of Environmental Protection conducted evaluations of healthcare facilities in the province to prevent air and environmental pollution.

Officials reported that 25 health centers across various districts of Herat are now under environmental monitoring and assessment. The initiative aims to reduce environmental pollution—particularly air pollution—and improve public health.

Environmental authorities emphasized that healthcare centers, due to medical waste and other pollutants, play a significant role in environmental contamination. Compliance with environmental standards in these facilities is considered essential.

This move is part of the department’s long-term strategy to preserve the environment and enhance the quality of life for local residents.
