Widespread Power Outage in Kabul and Several Provinces Due to Technical Failure

DID Press: Afghanistan’s national power utility, Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS), announced that the transmission of 220-kilovolt imported electricity has been disrupted in the Tangi Tashqurghan area along the Naibabad–Pul-e-Khumri route due to a technical problem.

The disruption has resulted in power outages across parts of Samangan and Baghlan provinces, as well as Parwan, Panjshir, Kapisa, Kabul, Logar, Paktia, Khost, Maidan Wardak, Ghazni, Nangarhar, and Laghman.

According to Breshna, technical teams have reached the site, but severe storm conditions have hindered repair work. Restoration efforts will resume once weather conditions improve.

The company emphasized that all available resources are being mobilized to resolve the issue as quickly as possible, though adverse weather may cause delays. Until the fault is fully repaired, domestically generated electricity has been kept on the grid to partially supply affected areas.
