India Denies Involvement in Deadly Shia Mosque Bombing in Islamabad

DID Press: Indian government  firmly denied any involvement in Friday’s bombing at a Shia mosque in Islamabad, an attack that killed at least 31 people and wounded more than 160, triggering widespread reactions.

According to media reports, after some circles in Pakistan pointed the finger at New Delhi, India’s Ministry of External Affairs issued a statement describing the allegations as “baseless and absurd.”

“The bombing today at a mosque in Islamabad is strongly condemned, and India extends its condolences over the loss of innocent lives,” the statement said.

An Indian Foreign Ministry spokesperson categorically rejected any role by India in the attack, adding: “It is regrettable that instead of seriously addressing the problems afflicting its social fabric, Pakistan prefers to shift blame onto others. India rejects all such allegations in their entirety.”

The explosion, which occurred during Friday prayers, is among the deadliest recent attacks in the Pakistani capital.

Pakistani authorities have not yet released detailed information about the perpetrators or motives behind the attack, and security investigations remain ongoing.
