EU, OIC Discuss Humanitarian, Rights Concerns in Afghanistan

DID Press: Gilles Bertrand, EU’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, announced that Tariq Ali Bakhit, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) Special Representative for Afghanistan, together with other OIC bodies, presented a comprehensive report on efforts to maintain constructive dialogue with current authorities in Afghanistan.

According to Bertrand, these discussions centered on addressing humanitarian and development challenges, as well as human rights concerns, particularly the situation of women and girls.

Bertrand underscored that these consultations aim to find practical solutions to alleviate the humanitarian crisis and strengthen responsible engagement with Afghanistan’s current leadership.
