China Unveils New Weapon Targeting Starlink Satellites

DID Press: A Chinese media outlet reported that researchers in China have developed a compact microwave-based system capable of disabling low-Earth orbit satellites, including networks such as Starlink.

According to the report, Wang Gang, a member of the research team, said the system can fire up to 3,000 high-energy pulses in a single operation.

Chinese experts cited in the report said power levels exceeding one gigawatt could disrupt the functioning of low-Earth orbit satellites or leave them vulnerable to damage.

The report comes amid intensifying global competition over space technologies and the development of anti-satellite capabilities by major powers.
