Taliban Assert ISIS Has No Physical Presence in Afghanistan

DID Press: Islamic State (ISIS) has no operational presence in Afghanistan, dismissing international concerns about the country’s security, said Taliban on Tuesday.

Abdul Mateen Qani, spokesperson for the Taliban Ministry of Interior, told reporters that all terrorist groups have been suppressed and will not be allowed to operate within Afghan territory.

Qani added that some recent security incidents involved nationals from neighboring countries and emphasized that the ministry is coordinating regionally to neutralize threats beyond Afghanistan’s borders.

“The objective is to ensure that no group or individual can use neighboring countries against Afghanistan,” he said, noting that the Taliban are conducting both diplomatic engagements and targeted operations to address active networks.
