Taliban Unveil New Military Uniform in Kabul
DID Press: Taliban’s Ministry of Defense on Monday, Feb. 16, unveiled a new uniform for its defense forces at a ceremony in Kabul, marking an effort to impose greater discipline and a unified identity across military units.

The event was attended by senior defense officials and commanders, including Mohammad Fasihuddin Fitrat, chief of staff of the Taliban armed forces, who said the new attire is intended to strengthen order, discipline and cohesion within the ranks. He described the uniform as a symbol of unity, adding that those joining the armed forces must regard the defense of the country as a core responsibility.
Inayatullah Khwarazmi, the ministry’s spokesman, stressed the need for adherence to professional standards and military discipline, saying personnel should act decisively against adversaries while behaving responsibly toward civilians.
Officials said the uniform, approved by the Taliban leadership, will be distributed to military units nationwide.
The lack of standardized attire in recent years had been cited as a weakness in the Taliban’s security structure, complicating efforts to distinguish official forces from irregular armed individuals and drawing criticism from residents.
