Amnesty Urges Congress to Curb Trump Administration’s “Illegal Killings at Sea”
DID Press: Amnesty International called on US Congress to rein in what it described as unlawful actions by the administration of Donald Trump, after 11 more people were killed in U.S. operations on the high seas, bringing the reported death toll in maritime strikes to more than 140.

In a new statement, the rights group condemned what it termed a “wave of unjustifiable and illegal killings,” urging lawmakers to take immediate steps to halt the operations and prevent further loss of life.
Amnesty said the continuation of such actions constitutes a clear violation of international human rights law and warned that the international community should not remain silent.
According to the statement, U.S. forces have been targeting vessels in international waters under allegations of drug trafficking, a practice Amnesty says lacks a lawful basis and risks further civilian casualties.
